Shopify uses a number of different data points to determine if an order is at risk for fraud. The data points include AVS, CVV, IP addresses, if a customer tried uses more than one credit card and more.

Fraud Control uses Shopify's fraud detection instantly sending email and/or alerts whenever a suspicious order is placed. Our app ensures that you are promptly notified, allowing you to take immediate action and prevent potential losses. Fraud Control DOES NOT prevent fraudulent orders. Fraud Control puts you in charge once a potentially fraudulent order is placed.

HOW IT WORKS
As we mentioned, Shopify uses a number of different data points to determine if an order is at risk for fraud. Sound great, right? So what's the problem?
Our fraud alert app works seamlessly with your Shopify store to immediately send you (and/or anyone on your team) an alert via e-mail or text message that a potentially fraudulent order was placed so you can take appropriate action. Here's how it works:1. Installation and Integration
Install our app from the Shopify App Store and follow the simple setup instructions. Our app integrates smoothly with your Shopify store, allowing for a hassle-free experience.
2. Customize Alerts
Once the app is installed, you will be prompted to establish who should receive alerts when a potentially fraudulent order is placed. You can determine how each person should receive the e-mail (To:, CC or BCC) and who should receive text messages.
3. Knowledge is Power
Once Shopify tags an order as a potential fraud risk our app will immediately send you an e-mail and/or text message. You now can take action by canceling order BEFORE it gets shipped, contact customer to ensure the order is legit, tag the order for future research, etc.
